What does each stat represent in Hyper Light Breaker? Each character has a particular set of stats that make them more suited to certain builds and playstyles. Some are clear-cut, such as armor, which increases a character’s inherent resistance to harm. Some, such as OPS, are extremely perplexing, and there aren’t any in-game explanations of their functions at the moment.
In Breaker, press “Esc” in the Outpost to bring up the loadout menu, which displays a character’s stats. Players can modify their loadout and view all of their equipped gear here, including their SyCom, which houses their stats. The base stats are linked to each character’s SyCom, which also includes a special passive ability, rather than the player’s stats being linked to the character they are currently playing.
What Are Core Stats? Understanding the 9 Key Attributes in Hyper Light Breaker

Hyper Light Breaker has nine Core Stats, each of which affects a different aspect of the character’s play and personality. The following are the nine core stats and their consequences:
Stat | Effect |
---|---|
HP | Determines the amount of HP, before any armor or Holobyte bonuses. |
BATT | Determines the amount of Battery a character can hold in their Rail. |
ARMOR | Determines the amount of damage resistance a character has, before armor or Holobyte bonuses. |
STRIKE | Determines how much damage a character can do with a Blade, before weapon, armor, or Holobyte bonuses. |
BLAST | Determines how much damage a character can do with a Rail, before weapon, armor, or Holobyte bonuses. |
STAM | Determines how many dashes a character has. |
CRIT CHANCE % | Determines the odds of a critical hit, before weapon, armor, or Holobyte bonuses. |
CRIT DMG % | Determines what percentage of base damage will be done whenever a critical hit is made, before weapon, armor, or Holobyte bonuses. |
OPS | Determines the rarity and level of gear dropped, and influences weapon damage. |
Most of these statistics will make sense to someone who enjoys video games. Although Strike and Blast can be a little puzzling at first, players soon realize what they are. The enigmatic OPS is the lone statistic that, even after some play, doesn’t make sense.
Tip – Finding Holobytes that fit the SyCom a selected character has equipped is the best course of action. To decide what kinds of builds to make, look at their base stats.
According to developers in the official Hyper Light Breaker Discord, OPS, or “Odds Per Stuff,” affects every event in the game that has to do with chance. This implies that players with a higher OPS will be more likely to obtain rarer and/or higher-level equipment. This implies that players with a higher OPS will have a greater likelihood of dealing damage with their weapon on the higher end of its range.
Note: Instead of dealing a fixed amount of damage, each weapon in Breaker deals a range of damage. A character is more likely to deal more damage inside that range if their OPS is higher. OPS still appears to make players slightly fortunate, while this is still not a guarantee of more overall damage.
Since OPS isn’t shown as a percentage chance like Crit Chance is, it’s currently unknown how precisely it’s determined on the back end. It might resemble the “57 Leaf Clover” scenario in Risk of Rain 2 when chance-related occurrences are re-rolled a certain number of times equal to a character’s OPS because it’s just a regular integer. Players will have to rely on the assumption that OPS is equivalent to luck for the time being, though, as there is no proof for this hypothesis.
How OPS and Other Stats Shape Your Playstyle and Build Strategies

As the name suggests, core stats form the basis of a character’s playstyle and character traits. The majority of Goro’s stats, for example, surge in a way that makes him ideal for high-crit, Rail-based gameplay. In contrast, Vermillion can be used for both tanker and rail builds, depending on whatever SyCom is installed.
These base stats should generally let players know which Holobytes to watch out for when playing. Although building outside of a character’s niche is not impossible due to stats, it is more sensible to play to SyCom’s strengths rather than against them. Although any character can be played in any way, the degree of naturalness of it depends on fundamental numbers.
Characters can also permanently gain strength and usefulness by upgrading these key stats to a certain degree. However, the character and SyCom determine how many times each stat can be increased. With more upgrade capacity than any other SyCom, Lapis’ Warrior SyCom is a great option for anyone seeking a fighter with all-around strength to help them get through Hyper Light Breaker’s most difficult battles.
