How to Get the Moon Ball in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Moon Ball is a rare item so there are multiple ways through which you can get the Moon Ball. You will be able to get the Moon Ball from Area Zero after ending the game. Because you have to unlock Area Zero which you can do by ending the game.
You will also get them by doing the side quest and if you get lucky you will get the Moon Ball as a reward. You won’t be able to get the Moon Ball from the shop.
Get Moon Ball Via Academy Ace Tournament
You need to participate in the Academy Ace Tournament if you win the battle you will be rewarded with the Moon Ball. Academy Ace Tournament will be available after defeating eight Gym Trainers.
How to get Moon Ball by Auction Method
There are auctions through which you can get the Moon Ball. You need to go to Porto Miranda which is near the Asadao Desert. After reaching there you will see a market where you will see multiple vendors.
There is no specific time for the Moon Ball to spawn. You need to check out if the Moon ball is available or not. If you get lucky you need to participate in the Auction.
The Moon Ball Auction will be more expensive than the other Auctions because this is a rare item. It will cost you a hefty amount of 340000. But most of the time auctions end at 200000 Poke Dollars. Outbid the NPC and get the Moon ball.
How to get Moon Ball by Pokedex Method
You need to complete the Pokedex while progressing through the Pokedex you will receive the items as a reward. The items will be rare and normal.
You will also get the Moon Ball as a gift. You will receive the Moon Ball when you enter 340 Pokedex Entries. You will be able to get this item by pressing the X button in the Pokedex App Reward.

In Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, while it is intended to be more effective against Pokémon that evolve by using Moon Stone and their evolutionary relatives, due to a glitch, it always has a 1× catch rate. (Instead, the Moon Ball is more effective against Pokémon that evolve by using a Burn Heal, but there are no such Pokémon.)
Generation IV
In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, if the wild Pokémon is part of an evolutionary family that includes a Pokémon who evolves by using a Moon Stone, it has a 4× catch rate modifier; otherwise, it has a 1× modifier.
Generation VII and Onward
If the wild Pokemon is the one you want to evolve using a Moon Stone, it has a 4× catch rate modifier; otherwise, it has a 1× modifier. If used on an Ultra Beast, the catch rate modifier is instead always set to 410/4096. This means these numbers will be your chances to catch the beast.
In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver only, Moon Balls cannot be held. This is to prevent them from being held by a Pokémon traded to Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, where the item does not exist.
