Set Your Default Audio Device in Sound

If you’re facing difficulties changing your default sound output device for THX Spatial Audio, especially when the usual methods through Taskbar or Action Center are not working, there’s an alternative solution. Follow these steps to set THX Spatial Audio as your default playback device:

  1. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type ‘mmsys.cpl‘ and press OK to access the Windows Sound properties.
  3. Within the Sound dialog, navigate to the Playback tab.
  4. Scroll down and right-click on ‘Speaker (THX Spatial).’
  5. From the context menu, choose ‘Set as Default Device.’
  6. Apply the changes by clicking on Apply and then OK.

Download All Windows Updates

Before going towards any advanced step you should check your Windows OS whether it’s updated or not. In most cases, the THX Spatial Audio, not working problem arises when the Windows 11 or 10 OS isn’t up to date.

  • From the context menu, choose the Set as Default Device option.
  • Now, from the APPLICATION MIXER section, choose Spatial Audio as the output.

Update Your Audio Drivers
