Helium-3 (He-3) is a useful resource to power up fueled generators in your outposts. Helium-3 has a mass of .60 and a value of 14 in Starfield. Unlike Copper, Antimony, or Titanium you can mine Helium-3 easily because it is a lethal gas. In case the extraction process goes wrong you can get lung damage or start cough.
Once extracted you can store the Helium-3 collected from the Extractor Site in a Gas Storage Container in your Outpost. In this article, we have explained how easily you can mine Helium-3 deposits in Starfield.
How to Extract Helium-3 in Starfield
Once you land on a planet for the first time in Starfield, you can find a list of its resources in the planet’s description. To read this description, highlight the world on the Starmap and press the “R” or “Lb” button.
If a planet has Helium-3, it will be listed in the description. However, if you haven’t visited the planet yet, the resource list won’t appear. Keep in mind that Kurtz, the moon of Jemison, and the Ananke are the most dependable planets for mining Helium-3 in Starfield.
In Starfield, you can locate Helium-3 on a planet’s surface as gas coming from small vents. Use your scanner to locate these patches of Helium, which will appear as green marks on your scanner. However, you won’t be certain it’s Helium-3 until you get close enough to highlight or interact with it.
Instead of directly contacting Helium-3, consider building an Outpost Beacon near the Helium cluster. With the Outpost Beacon in place, access the Build Menu
To build the extractor, you’ll need the following resources:
- Nickel x4
- Aluminum x5
- Copper x3
Once the extractor is built, position it near the Helium-3 deposit, and it will start collecting Helium-3 for you. The extractor will display the current supply level for your convenience.
How To Link Helium-3 Gas Extractor With The Outpost Storage
It’s crucial to remember that the Extractor must be connected to the Storage for proper Helium-3 (He-3) mining in Starfield. Here’s how to do it:
- While in Build Mode, approach the Extractor and right-click on it.
- This action will create a red Output Link that you can drag and connect to the Storage.
Once this is done, all the Helium-3 that’s extracted will be directly stored in the connected Storage. You can then link the Storage to your Outpost to supply power effectively.
